Getting to know complex carbs
When it comes to dieting, you have to know how to. Dieting isn't just eating smaller portions or exercising to burn off fat. Dieting has to be a way of life, not just an activity. Diets shouldn't be something you do sporadically, it should be carefully planned and thought out. You should know exactly what components your diet is made of and exactly how much you need to consume. In fact, you need to take it one step further and understand what you're eating. For instance, if you're on a diet you need to understand simple carbs and complex carbs

Along with good carbs and bad carbs, of course. Once you understand your components of your diet, you will be able to have an effective diet. It is not as easy as being willing to start counting carbs. You are going to have to know the good from the bad!

"I knew a little bit about carbs before I started my diet, but I didn't know that much about the different groups of carbs (complex carbs, simple carbs, etc.). That is, until I went to my nutritionist and he explained everything to me. He explained the importance of complex carbs in my diet, and he even drew out a complete diet plan for me. I started on that diet and it was great. I could eat practically anything I wanted -- including my favorite foods -- and it was OK. I've been on that diet ever since. It is not just a diet, but a way of life. I've even gotten my family to follow, now we all feel a lot healthier and have more energy than ever." -- Tommy, 40

Understanding complex carbohydrates can be the difference between constructing a decent diet and making a mess of things.
You have to know when to consume complex carbs and when not to.
You need to get a handle on this and just how many complex carbs per meal you should put in your system.
Once you grasp that concept, your diet will be a success.
